Crystal Clear Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a deeply effective treatment for renewing a fresh, young-looking glow to your skin. Also removes blemishes and revives dull skin. One of the most effective anti-ageing treatments available, Microdermabrasion is a painless exfoliation deep within the skin using microscopic crystals to gently disrupt unwanted skin cells on the skins surface. Included in each treatment is a Mini-Lift Mask which is an intense, hydrating and lifting mask leaving the skin firm and smooth with visible plumping of lines and wrinkles.

How does the treatment work?
The skin is cleansed to remove oil and dirt. The therapist targets a stream of fine aluminium oxide crystals over the face. The crystals abrade away old, dead skin cells which a vacuum removes from the skin. The Mini-Lift Mask is then applied whilst you are given a luxurious neck and shoulder or hand massage. The mask is then removed and a moisturiser is applied.

How many treatments are required?
A single treatment will leave the skin looking and feeling brighter. For longer lasting and more targeted results a course of five treatments is recommended at weekly intervals.

How will my skin feel immediately after treatment?
Most people feel a slight tightness to the skin, as if the skin has been exposed to the wind. Some often experience mild redness. Both usually subside with 30 minutes to 1 hour of receiving a treatment.

What skin conditions does Microdermabrasion treat?
Microdermabrasion benefits the following skin conditions:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Post acne scarring
  • Mild pigmentation
  • Sun damaged/smokers skin
  • Lack of luminosity
  • Open pores

Are there any contraindications to Microdermabrasion?
The treatment is not recommended for people who have undiagnosed skin conditions, skin cancer on the face, active rosacea, eczema, extreme sensitivity, sunburn, unstable diabetes, the first 3 months of pregnancy.

What advice is given for aftercare?

  • Avoid direct sunlight, sunbeds and heat treatments for 5 days after treatment.
  • Apply a good moisturiser for 4-6 days after treatment.
  • Always use a good sunscreen.
  • Avoid using a facial exfoliator for 7 days after treatment.
  • Avoid the use of make-up for 12 hours after treatment.
  • Listen to your therapist and take advise about the correct home skin care.

When should I arrive?

Please allow for parking and arrive at least 5 minutes before your appointment time. If you arrive earlier we have a waiting area in reception where you can enjoy a complimentary drink and a selection of magazines.

What do I wear during my treatment?

Please wear comfortable clothes which are easily removed if required for your treatment. If you are having a pedicure then please wear open-toed shoes.

What if I am late for my appointment?

Arriving late will simply limit the time available for your treatment, thus reducing its effectiveness and your pleasure. Your treatment will need to end on time so that our next consultation is not delayed.
